Episode 19: Five Tips for Achieving Your Goals this Fiscal Year

July 4, 2019

Happy new (fiscal) year!

The new fiscal year always feels like the start of a new school year. Even if we don’t get to partake in the fun of back to school shopping for new clothes and stationary anymore (who are we kidding- I still buy new stationary), the new year is a time to reflect and reinvent yourself.

You have a clean slate, there’s plenty of time to make good on your deliverables for the year, and there’s just so much potential.

That being said, that new year feeling can easily get away from us once we get into the swing of programs and fundraising. So, what can you do to ensure you make the most of this fiscal year? How can you prepare yourself to hit all of your goals for this fiscal year?

In this episode, I offer five tips to help you make this year your best fiscal year yet. Some highlights are:

  • [4:38] Reverse engineer your fiscal year
  • [6:50] Make the one decision that will make other decisions downstream easier
  • [9:02] Shift the focus of your meetings from reporting to strategizing
  • [11:52] Identify your roadblocks and start to chip away at them this year
  • [13:56] Invest in yourself every. single. day.
